Crystal Mind Counseling does not accept insurance. This allows for therapy to be tailored to your needs without restrictions or expectations on session length, frequency, diagnoses, or the type of treatment you receive.
If you have out-of-network benefits you may be eligible for reimbursement. Alissa is happy to provide a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for possible partial reimbursement.
To help with the reimbursement of services, Alissa has teamed up with Mentaya, a platform that helps clients get money back on out-of-network therapy sessions. If you have out-of-network benefits, Mentaya will file claims and handle the insurance paperwork to make sure that you get reimbursed.
Crystal Mind Counseling also accepts HSA/FSA payments for added flexibility.
Mentaya's goal is to save you time and money. It's completely optional.
I do not benefit in any way from your participation.
How does it work?
Check your insurance benefits using the instant benefits verification tool.
Sign up for Mentaya here.
Mentaya submits your claims and handles any insurance follow-up.
You sit back, and wait for your reimbursement check (if applicable) to come in by mail or direct deposit.
Mentaya charges a 5% fee per claim, which includes handling any paperwork required, dealing with denials, and calling insurance companies.
FAQs
HOW MUCH DOES THERAPY COST?
For individual therapy my rate is $145 for 50 minutes. For couples therapy my rate is $160 for 50 minutes.
WHY DON’T YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE FOR THERAPY?
Insurance companies often restrict the number of sessions, require a diagnosis for coverage, and dictate which treatments are allowed. This is very limiting for both individual therapy and couples therapy. In fact, many insurance plans do not cover couples therapy since it is not considered medically necessary. By staying out-of-network, we can focus on what works best for you without outside interference. In addition, many therapists, including myself, can’t afford to accept the reimbursements that insurance companies offer while still providing the quality of care we believe our clients deserve.
If you have out-of-network benefits, we’re happy to provide a superbill for possible reimbursement.
HOW LONG WILL I BE IN THERAPY FOR?
This is different for every person. It can last as little as 3 months or as long as 5 years (or more, and that’s ok)! Sometimes therapy remains ongoing for many years in the form of periodical maintenance (e.g. an appointment once a month or once every few months to make sure you’re checking in during life changes, hard times, or just for a refresher).
WHEN DO YOU SEE CLIENTS IN PERSON?
I offer in-person appointments on Mondays only. My office is located at 4022 Menchaca Rd, Austin, TX 78704. These spots tend to fill up quickly. If a spot isn’t available, I’m happy to put you on my waitlist. I offer telehealth sessions from Tuesday through Friday. I’ve found that telehealth sessions have continued to provide the same effectiveness as in-person sessions. In addition, it has given clients more flexibility with the times in which they can schedule their appointments (it’s not unusual a client will have a session in their car, at home, on their lunch break, or even outside, wherever privacy is available). If you find telehealth doesn’t feel right for you after trying it out, we can discuss referral options for you!
